It is uneasy to await something to be noticed. It is truer if they are very important ones to our life, such as school or job admission or test report from the hospital. Our life is a continuum of those things that we have to wait for. Not always, however, we get a positive notice. Many times we get notices we do not want, the negative ones. Among them could be that of diagnosis of a fatal disease of ourselves or of our beloved ones.
As we are waiting for an important notice, we feel so uneasy as if it would be the end of the world if we do not get the positive one; but not all do so. Here we have the two ways of life: one is living in ceaseless uneasiness and the other is living in happiness not interrupted by such negative happenings. If one always worries about negative notices then s/he will live the one way. Then how could we live the other way?
Let’s look at our life as a whole: it is being woven, like a cloth, with both positive and negative things and it is inevitable; it is the nature of human life. As we see it as a whole, we will definitely notice that our life is still going on, and that, probably, very well, regardless of the inevitable negative things. As we see it as a whole it would be like a beautiful cloth woven with threads of various colors, bright and dark as well. What if, then, we had not felt uneasy when we were waiting for any important notice? Our such attitude must not have changed the notice, from what we wanted into what we did not; rather we definitely would not have lost our happiness.
Therefore, what is the way to live the other way? Admit that, whatever the result of any notice may be, it is the best for us and our life. As we admit it boldly, we will not feel uneasiness even while we are waiting as well as we will not be unhappy even when we get the negative notice and have to go through the result of it. However, it is not very easy to admit it; that’s why there are not many who are living really happy, without being bothered by negative aspects of life. But If you really want to be happy even with the nature of our life, let me tell you a secret; you got to dwell on it.
It is neither positive things that give us happiness nor negative things that breaks it; it is our admission that our life is like a cloth being woven by someone. He is the almighty Creator and Sustainer of all things, including our life. As we admit him as our loving Father, who is giving his children always the best and working for the best of them, the negative things are also the colorful thread he uses for our life. He is the best Weaver who never fails for his children’s life. Believe this:
“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him” (Matthew 7:11)!
“For those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
God be with you always.
